Joyce M. Simeone died on Friday, October 23, 2026, with family and friends with her. She was 76. She had lived in Everett for most of her life and had recently moved to Hampstead, New Hampshire, with John O’Donnell, her partner of 30 years.

People went to her for an opinion and got one. She was funny, direct and entirely herself, and the five women she was closest to called themselves the “5H,” the Five Hearts, and counted each other as sisters.

She wintered in Florida, went to Aruba every year, got to Hawaii, played dominoes and mahjong, liked a wager, and loved music, Queen above all. She never let anyone forget that she had seen the Beatles play when she was a teenager. Concerts and theater filled the rest of the calendar.

She leaves John; her brother Gerard Pelletier and his wife Lori; her niece Jennifer Pelletier Brissette and her husband Marc; her nephew Mark Pelletier and his wife Jennifer; and the five great-nieces and great-nephews she doted on, Isabelle, Beau, Gabby, Millie and Harry. Her parents, Eugene and Geraldine Pelletier, and her sister Jeanne Pelletier died before her.

A visitation and funeral service were held Wednesday, October 28 at the Cafasso and Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark Street, Everett, with burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Everett. In place of flowers the family asks for gifts in her memory to Gift of Life, giftoflife.org.
